Technical information
Pump sets are used to transfer fluids from one step to the next—such as filling or draining bioreactors or feeding through filters.
These assemblies often include a diaphragm pump head designed for gentle fluid handling, minimizing shear stress on cells. Integrated sensors (e.g. pressure sensors) can enhance process control and prevent overpressure or blockage.
Depending on the application, different pump types can be used — including diaphragm pumps for pulsation-free transfer, peristaltic pumps for sterile fluid contact (only the tubing touches the fluid), and displacement pumps for precise flow control. The pump head is single-use, while the drive unit is typically re-usable—making it both flexible and efficient.
